Pengaruh Kompetensi dan Motivasi Kerja terhadap Kinerja Inspektur Penerbangan di Kantor Otoritas Bandar Udara Wilayah II

Abstract

Employees who have high performance tend to get greater opportunities to get various awards and good career paths. One factor that can be used to improve employee performance is work competence and motivation. Competence or ability is defined as a person's nature related to his ability to carry out a job. Motivation is a tool used by management to encourage employees to work better, namely by creating hope that they will get more decent services. This study aims to determine the effect of competence on the performance of Flight Inspectors at the Regional II - Medan Airport Authority Office, to determine the effect of work motivation on the performance of Flight Inspectors at the Regional II Airport Authority Office - Medan and to determine the influence of competencies and work motivation simultaneously on the performance of the Flight Inspector at the Regional II Airport Authority Office - Medan. The study population consisted of 40 Flight Inspectors at the Regional II Regional Authority Office - Medan. the population is smaller than 100 people then the sample taken from the entire population is 40 (forty) people by taking census samples. Data collection techniques in this study are questionnaires, interviews and documentation studies. While the data analysis technique used is the classic assumption test, multiple regression, t test, F test and coefficient of determination. The results of the study showed that the competence variables partially and positively influenced the performance of the Flight Inspector of the Regional II Airport Authority Office - Medan. The better the competence of the Flight Inspector, the higher the performance, which means that the higher the ability of the Flight Inspector to do the work, the higher the performance of the Flight Inspector. Work motivation variables partially have a significant and positive effect on the performance of the Aviation Authority of the Regional II Airport Authority Inspector - Medan. The better the motivation for the Aviation Inspector's work, the better the performance. Competency variables and work motivation simultaneously have a significant effect on the performance of the Aviation Authority of the Regional II Airport Authority Inspector - Medan. Variations in employee performance can be explained by competence and motivation by 90.30%, while the remaining 9.70% is explained by other factors, namely communication, leadership and other factors that are not explained in this research model. It is suggested that the Regional Office Authority Authority II Medan - in an effort to improve the performance of the Flight Instruction, providing an opportunity for flight recruiters who excel to occupy structural positions or other strategic positions as compensation for increased competencies and work motivation.
