HUBUNGAN GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA RUANGAN DENGAN MOTIVASI KERJA PERAWAT DI RUMAH SAKIT SANTA ELISABETH MEDAN TAHUN 2020

Abstract

Motivation is a feeling or thought that drives someone to do work or exercise power, especially, in behavior important factor for generating enthusiasm for work, maintaining behavior, and channeling behavior in positive activities Leadership style has a great importance to the motivation of nurses working to reach a certain peak, so the role of leadership in most organizations is important. This study aimed at identifying the relation between ward head leadership style and nurses’ work motivation in inpatient Santa Elisabeth Hospital. The research method used is non-experimental design with Cross Sectional. The population in this study were nurses who worked in inpatient Santa Elisabeth Hospital, Medan, with a total sample of 60 respondents. Simple random sampling taking technique. The instrument used in this study was in questionnaire.Data analysis was performed using the chi square test. The results of this study indicate that of the 60 respondents most of the good leadership style of the room head were 47 people (78.3%), with respondents who had moderate work motivation as many as 28 people (46.7%). The statistical test results obtained p = 0.006 <0.05, which means there is a significant the relation between ward head leadership style and nurses’ work motivation in inpatient Santa Elisabeth Hospital, Medan. It is recommended that the leadership style of the room head be further improved by providing guidance in the nursing care process and providing rawards so that nurses are more motivated to work.
