Abstract

Test of this research is to see the effect of Workload and Skills that Affect Employee Work Performance at the Dinas Perisndustrian dan Perdagangan Kabupaten Karo, both partially as well as simultaneously. The number of population as well as the sample in this study were 48 respondents. The method of data collection is done by using the literature method and field research methods. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis with hypothesis testing using partial test (t test) and simultaneous test (F test). To see how much influence the independent variable on the dependent variable is used test the coefficient of determination (R2).The results showed that the regression equation Y = 6,562 - 0.190X1 + 0.667X2, where the workload has a negative direction while skills have a positive direction towards work performance. Based on hypothesis testing, the result shows that workload has no effect on employee performance, this is evidenced by the t value (-1.376) <t table value (2.012) and the significance value (0.176)> 0.05. Skills have a positive and significant effect on employee work performance, this is evidenced by the t value (9.092)> t table value (2.012) and the significance value (0.000) <0.05. Workload and skills simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on work performance, this result is shown by the calculated F value (42.183)> F table (3.20), and the significance value (0.000) <0.05. Work performance can be explained by the workload and skills of 63.7%, while the remaining 36.3% can be explained by other variables outside of this research model.
