The Effect Of Organizational Climate And Leadership Style On Organizational Commitment And Employee Performance At PDAM Tirtanadi Sumatra Province

Abstract

The research aims to confirm and analyze: Direct effect and significance of organizational climate on organizational commitment; Direct effect and significance of leadership style on organizational commitment; Direct effect and significance of organizational climate on employee performance; Direct effect and significance of leadership style on employee performance; Direct effect and significance of organizational commitment on employee performance; The indirect effect and significance of the organizational climate on employee performance through organizational commitment; Indirect effect and significance of leadership style on employee performance through organizational commitment. Respondents were 200 employees of PDAM Tirtanadi, North Sumatra Province. The data analysis technique uses the structural equation model with the maximum likelihood method. The results of the study include: Organizational climate has no significant and negative direct effect on organizational commitment; Leadership style directly, significantly and positively effects organizational commitment; Organizational climate has no significant and direct effect on employee performance; Leadership style has no significant and direct effect on employee performance; Organizational commitment has a significant and positive direct effect on employee performance; Work climate has an indirect and insignificant and negative effect on employee performance through organizational commitment; Leadership style has an indirect and significant positive effect on employee performance through organizational commitment.
