HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU DENGAN PEMBERIAN IMUNISASI DASAR PADA BALITA DI DESA UJUNG RAMBE KECAMATAN BANGUN PURBA KABUPATEN DELI SERDANG

Abstract

Mother's knowledge about immunization is needed so that toddlers get complete basic immunizations and avoid disease. Problems that often arise in mothers in Ujung Rambe Village are mothers who are still worried about the risk of immunization, because it can cause reactions at the injection site such as redness, swelling, and pain, mothers who are too busy working, do not know the effects of immunization

The study aims at analyzing the relationship between mother's knowledge and the provision of basic immunization for toddlers in Ujung Rambe Village, Bangun Purba District, Deli Serdang Regency. Descriptive correlation research method with Cross Sectional approach with a total sample of 47 who have babies aged 1 year, with a total sampling technique. Data was collected by interview using a questionnaire and observation. The data were tested with Chi-square. The results obtained were the majority of respondents had good knowledge, and complete basic immunizations. The results of the statistical test showed that there was a significant relationship between the two variables (p = 0.002). Most toddlers have been fully immunized because their mothers are aware of the importance of immunization for the health of their toddlers. It is hoped that mothers of children under five will be able to increase insight and information about basic immunization in toddlers, and increase awareness about immunization programs according to the schedule and complete immunizations, it is expected that health workers in Ujung Rambe Village will increase awareness of basic immunizations about the provision and timing of vaccinations in the village of Ujung Rambe.
