HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU DALAM PELAKSANAAN PERAWATAN METODE KANGURU (PMK) DENGAN PENINGKATAN BERAT BADAN BAYI DI RUANG NICU RSIA STELLA MARIS MEDAN
Abstract
Kangoroo Methode Care (KMC) can be used in the care of low birth weight (LBW). The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship of knowledge and attitudes of mother of a baby who had low birth weight infant with implementation of kangaroo mother care in NICU mother and child Stella Maris Hospital. This research uses descriptive method of correlation, the population of the entire mother who gave birth to a babies of low birth weight in the Stella Maris Hospital as many as 300 mothers. The sample used as many as 30 mothers. The sampling technique in this study is the incidental sampling. Data analysis univariate and bivariat use by using the Spearman test. Results of the study showed that more than half of knowledge able good, more than half of them being positive attitudes and more than half weight improvment. From the test results, there is a relationship between the square of knowledge and weight improvment with t-value = 0,026 and the direct correlation strong and positive (r = 0,776, there is relationship attitude and weight improvement of mother with kangaroo care method implementation with t-value p = 0,035 and direct correlation strong and positive (r = 0,685), so expect the mothers of a baby who had low birth weight infant will have of kangaroo mother care with and nurses in NICU to continue to provide useful information for mothers about infant care on low birth weight as implementation of kangaroo mother care
